What We Do:
Konare Law is a boutique law firm specializing in removal proceedings and cases from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), Department of State (DOS) and Department of Labor (DOL). Our attorneys are well prepared to address the needs of our clients domestically and internationally. We offer excellent litigation skills, high quality work with an array of experience in Immigration and Nationality Act, and experienced counsel in removal and deportation proceedings.
What does a Konare Law Legal Assistant do?
The Legal Assistant position provides administrative and clerical support to the legal team both paralegals and attorneys. This support varies from scheduling, client calls, filing, auditing, and general administrative functions throughout the firm. In addition, the Legal Assistant will be the point of contact for all internal inquires for their assigned legal team. All duties and functions will be supervised by an attorney.
Responsibilities
Keeps cases organized by establishing and organizing files, monitoring calendars, meeting deadlines; documenting actions and client communication; inputting information into file database and confirming case status with attorney.
Keeps clients informed by maintaining contact and communicating case progress.
Helping with case preparation by preparing case materials for trial.
Answering phones and emails promptly.
Provide administrative support to attorneys and paralegals to enhance office effectiveness.
Produces information by inputting, editing, retrieving, copying, and transmitting text, data, and graphics, coordinating case preparation.
Maintains client confidence by keeping client/attorney information confidential.
Provides historical reference by developing and utilizing the file room system; maintaining transcripts; notes, internal firm documents, applications, and original client documents.
Reviews the daily mail log and enters all tasks and court dates onto the legal team’s calendar.
Scans all supporting documents for assigned cases.
Continually audits cases, tasks, and workflows for the assigned legal team.

Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s Degree with one-year minimum experience of immigration law or Associate Degree with two years minimum experience of immigration law* or *HS Diploma with three years minimum experience of immigration law ( Preferred)
Experienced: Two years of legal assistant experience ( Preferred ) and One- year of customer service experience.
Bilingual: English/Spanish (Required), Portuguese (Preferred)
