PacArctic, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is looking for a highly qualified, experienced, and self-motivated individual to perform the duties of an Access Control/Security Specialist with intimate knowledge of visitor procedures. The Specialist will support PacArctic and our government customer at the FBI LAB Quantico location, a critical and sensitive facility. These positions require a Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility. Please do not apply if you do not possess a TS/SCI level clearance. The position hours are 10pm – 06am Sunday night through Friday morning. This position supports a critical location that must be open 24/7/365 and thus requires that you must work on the holidays that fall Sunday through Friday; employees who work on holiday have the flexibility to use the holiday time off on an alternate date.

Access Control Security Specialists (AC/SS) must be flexible and willing to alternate his or her schedule to staff any of the escort desks during the designated working hours. The Contractors may be required to shift their schedule or report to an alternate location without significant advance notice. Demonstrating cooperation and flexibility when directed to staff an alternate escort desk during any of the identified work hours is necessary.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

Contractors shall be required to use the FBI access control databases, including the FBI's Phoenix and the SOPU Gatekeeper visitor database.

  • Conduct Scattered Castles and/or JPAS verifications as requested.
  • Personnel shall be responsible for processing incoming Visitor Access Requests (VAR) and for entering the information into the appropriate database. Must coordinate VAR information with the appropriate FBI Security Division personnel.
  • Prepare electronic communications (ECs) in Sentinel as required.
  • Responsible for monitoring CCTV video, conducting perimeter checks, and shall assist with escort duties as needed.
  • Shall coordinate with Quantico Security Operations Center (QSOC) for emergency response and alarm activity.
  • Shall process FBI Limited Access Request (LAR) paperwork.
  • Shall issue badges and IDs in accordance with policy and utilize the badge system as directed.
  • Personnel shall be responsible for the screening of visitors with an X-ray machine and a metal detector. They shall complete all training required/provided by the customer to insure proper handling of this equipment.
  • Must not leave the post until properly relieved other than leaving for short periods of time to conduct perimeter checks and perform assigned job-related tasks or take lunch or health breaks.
  • Shall be flexible and perform additional duties as needed in support of the unit.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Must possess final Top-Secret personnel security clearances and must be eligible for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) special access.
  • Minimum education required is a bachelor’s degree in any field and three (3) years security experience in relevant fields, such as industrial security, physical security and computer/network security – OR – a minimum of five (5) years of experience in any security related field.
  • Must be skilled in creating complex spreadsheets (i.e. Excel, etc.), in preparing briefings (i.e. PowerPoint, etc.), Word, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly; must be able to provide security briefings and debriefings; must be able to provide comprehensive written communications.
  • Must perform all duties in an extremely professional, customer-service oriented manner.

Working Environment & Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.

The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
