We are seeking a knowledgeable and client-focused Account Executive with strong Employee Benefits experience to join our growing team in Livingston, NJ. This role is pivotal in managing client relationships, overseeing benefits plan design and renewals, and ensuring outstanding service delivery; particularly for clients with self-funded (self-insured) health plans, representing a growing portion of our business.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Service and Management
- Serve as primary point of contact for a portfolio of medium and large group benefits clients
- Act as a strategic advisor for clients with self-funded/self-insured plans, including stop-loss, claims funding, and cost-containment strategies
- Provide ongoing support to clients and employees regarding benefit questions, claims resolution, and plan interpretation
Benefits Experience
- Manage all aspects of employee benefits plans, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary benefits
- Stay informed on market trends, ensuring compliance requirements (ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, etc.) and regulatory changes
- Prepare and present proposals, benefits summaries, and comparative analysis
Business Support
- Lead annual renewal and open enrollment processes across clients and carriers
- Partner with internal account managers, producers, and support teams to identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities to enhance client offerings and generate revenue growth
- Build and maintain strong carrier and TPA relationships to support effective plan negotiation and resolution of service issues
Qualifications and Experience
- 5 years’ experience in employee benefits within an insurance brokerage
- Direct experience supporting self-funded/self-insured health plans is highly preferred
- Strong technical knowledge of group benefits products and industry practices
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills
- Proficiency in Applied Epic (preferred)
- Valid Life & Health Insurance License (required)
