Job description
The Communication Dispatcher operates in the Communications Room for a daily shift of eight hours. The Communications Room is a twenty four hour operation. We are seeking a full-time dispatcher for 1st shift 7:00am to 3pm. During each shift the dispatcher is required to remain alert and conscience of all radio traffic, incoming alarms and incoming telephone calls.
Essential Job Functions:
- At the start of shift check and test all alarm and radio equipment
- Initiate by radio or phone emergency procedures for fire and security alarms and personal injuries
- Monitor and operate the fire and security alarm CRT system
- Contact by telephone city emergency response departments when needed
- Dispatch and receive two-way radio traffic
- Log by hand all dispatched and received radio traffic
- Log in computer all guest room calls
- Answer and place in-house and local telephone calls as needed
- Monitor and operate as needed the Sheraton’s emergency generator panel
- Process all Commercial, Retail and Apartment after-hour work orders
Non-essential Job Functions:
- Receive and log two-way radio equipment and pagers for repair
- Distribute and log use of keys
