Responsibility:
- The Family Specialist position will be responsible for: providing continuity of care, with the goal of permanent placement, for adolescents in the custody of the DCBS through a case management model that includes a team approach, developing, expanding, accessing and linking resources in the community to the needs of the child throughout the child’s experience in the system, while documenting the progress
- The population served will be adolescents, many of which have experienced significant trauma and multiple family displacements and disruptions in their young lives
Qualifications:
- Ability to be non-reactive in the midst of high stress, crisis situations
- Trauma-informed philosophy and congruent behaviors
- Experience and ability to work with adults and children from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic environments
- All Case Managers at Kulima Care will successfully complete CM Certification
- A valid driver’s license,
- All potential job candidates must pass an extensive background check
Minimal Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field
- A minimum of 5 years of job-related experience in foster care or related community-based casework, and or working with youth and families.
