Position Overview:
As a Prep Cook at KYU, your primary responsibility will be to prepare high-quality meals according to our standard recipes. You'll be an integral part of our kitchen team, ensuring the prep station is well-organized, inventory is stocked, and sanitation standards are met. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and multitasking skills, contributing to our customers' satisfaction and the growth of our restaurant.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and stock the preparation station.
- Prepare various components of menu items, including chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and preparing sauces.
- Follow instructions provided by the executive chef.
- Ensure food preparation and storage areas meet health and safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness in prep areas and handle leftovers appropriately.
- Stock inventory and supplies.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to cook menu items.
Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certificate in Culinary Arts or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role.
- Profound knowledge of restaurant best practices and cooking methods.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask effectively.
- Team player who can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working in busy restaurants is a plus.
