What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electric Motor Winder position at L & S Electric, Inc?

L&S is looking for an experienced Electric Motor Winder. We are seeking a self-motivated team member that has strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent organization skills, likes to work with their hands, with the ability to work independently and multitask.
2nd shift premium is $2.00/hour
Responsibilities:
- Inspect, stator core and parts for damage, diagnose possible reason(s) for failure.
- Perform Core Loss Test.
- Collect data, count the number of strains of wire that is in the coil. Measure core length.
- Ensure laminations are not damaged/bent in stator core.
- Wind coils: Wind, assemble, and install various types of coils in AC/DC Motor stators using industry best practices.
- Insert coils into core.
- Operate specialized testing equipment to ensure each stator assembly phase is balanced and not grounded before varnish operation.
- Braze using oxy-acetylene, induction, and/or resistance welding techniques.
- Observe all safety procedures and use proper protective equipment.
- Able to perform all essential functions of the job.
- Complete required job cards with correct documentation.
- Provide feedback to assist in accurate costing and work scope development for rewind projects.
- Utilize manufacturer’s recommendations and industry best.
- Conduct preventative maintenance as required on equipment in your work area.
- Clean and organize shop, as required to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
- Perform other skilled or non-skilled duties as directed by supervision.

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Good hand/eye coordination.
- Understanding of electrical theory and strong mechanical aptitude/skills.
- Able to wear necessary protective equipment.
- Fluent in English (oral and written)
- Authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Previous motor winding experience.
Preferred:
- Proficient in the use of precision measuring devices, such as micrometers and calipers, etc.
Physical demands:
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.
- Daily use of PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel toed safety shoes.
