We’re hiring a Lab Operations Associate!
LabCentral, a launchpad for early-stage biotech companies in Cambridge, is seeking to fill a Lab Operations Associate role at our LabCentral 700 location. You’ll be a strong fit for this role if you have an educational background or training in Biology and one year of practical hands-on experience in a laboratory setting. Additionally, you’re a highly capable, self-directed individual who enjoys a healthy mix of problem-solving and customer-facing interactions.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Display a high-level of customer service to ensure the residents have a positive and productive experience while at LabCentral.
- Collaborate with the lab team to maintain the labs and troubleshoot technical issues on equipment, such as such as incubators, centrifuges, cold storage, containment equipment, and microscopes, as well as cleaning equipment, such as autoclaves and glass washers
- Prepare laboratory spaces for new companies.
- Advise and instruct residents on equipment usage and facilitate training sessions with vendors.
- Liaise between residents, vendors, and our teams to ensure prompt feedback and action for issue resolution.
- Assist in the development and modification of standard operating procedures for the labs.
- Respond to and be available for occasional lab-related issues outside of normal business hours as part of the on-call rotation (roughly once a month).
- Engage in fun activities and events that help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and abide to LabCentral’s values.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND TECHNICAL SKILLS
Willingness to learn about how to use a wide variety of lab equipment.
Adept MS Suite and common computing skills required.
Ability to work onsite at our location in Cambridge, MA
DESIRED COMPETENCIES AND BEHAVIORS
Strong time management, organization, multi-tasking, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and customer service skills for building relationships with residents and vendors.
In your first six months, you will:
Immerse yourself in day-to-day laboratory maintenance and operations. Complete needed trainings on aspects of lab equipment and processes. Develop an understanding of the LabCentral Community and interact with residents. Learn our systems and provide feedback on how to do things better. Continue to build your skills and set goals for personal and professional growth.
