What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ranger Police Officer position at Lake County Forest Preserve District?
The Ranger Police Officer enforces the Illinois Compiled Statutes and District Rules and Regulations on District lands. Provides field management for part-time staff. Responsible for the protection of the public and natural resources. Provides public relations field support, surveillance, emergency assistance and aid to local law enforcement agencies and training to Public Safety force.
Lateral transfer opportunity. Completion of basic police training approved by the state and local law enforcement officer training board; a valid driver’s license; and vision correctable to 20/20.
