Assistant Professor of Psychology

REPORTS TO: DEAN OF THE SCHOOL OF BUSINESS & SOCIAL SCIENCES

STATUS: FULL-TIME, EXEMPT, SALARIED

Lake Erie College, a small, co-educational, four-year, independent liberal arts college located in Painesville, OH, 30 miles east of Cleveland, invites applications for the full-time, tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of Psychology.

Responsibilities

• Provides instruction at the undergraduate and graduate level, using collaborative, instructional technology, and innovative methods.
• Teaches psychology courses, including general psychology, psychology of personality, abnormal psychology, child psychology, clinical psychology, social psychology, juvenile delinquency psychology research seminar, among others.
• Also teaches within the psychology concentrations.
• Develops syllabi and coursework.
• Advises students.
• Provides assessment of students and supports College assessment needs.
• Establishes and fosters community and institutional relationships to form partnerships that will assist students with networking and job opportunities.
• Assists with the recruitment of prospective students.
• Continues expanding knowledge base with continued professional development.
• Provides general service to the College, including college and faculty committee assignments.

• PhD in psychology.
• Mentor for Psi Chi, The International Honor Society, and the Psychology Club.
• Demonstrates a commitment to excellence in teaching in a liberal arts college environment.
• Growth and “doer” mindset and institutional teamwork ethic.
