What are the responsibilities and job description for the HVAC Mechanic position at Lake Nona Wave Hotel?
Overview
Responsible for the daily maintenance and repairs of all hotel heating, air conditioning and ventilation systems as well as all hot and cold-water systems to include but not limited to boilers, cooling tower, and associated pumps and motors. Perform Preventive Maintenance as assigned or required while keeping system downtime to a minimum. Provide our guest with first class services that promotes return visits and builds brand recognition.
Responsibilities
- 55% Conduct daily Preventive Maintenance on all hotel heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment. Perform any necessary repairs in a timely manner as to reduce down time. Track all associated inventory and maintain established inventory levels. Complete all required reports on equipment history to include all cost associated with any repair or PM.
- 20% Conduct all equipment walk-thrus, reading and logs as requested by Engineering management. These must be kept in an organized location as designated by Engineering management.
- 15% Assist with the development and implementation of a Refrigeration Usage Log and keep it current.
- 10% Monitor and review all scheduled events and schedule all air handlers through the Energy Management System (EMS) to start as least 30 minutes before each event. Review all air conditioners on EMS several times throughout each shift as to the correct operating parameters.
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONSIn addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may require to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by management based upon the particular requirement of the company.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of assigned shops, mechanical areas, tool carts and tools. • Maintain all equipment in first class condition at all times. Replace all screws and fasteners as they were when the equipment was new.• Always work in a safe and orderly manner. • Track all associated inventory and maintain established inventory level.• Always clean up after each task; never leave a mess for Housekeeping to clean up.• Report any unsafe condition to your manager immediately • Support and insure compliance with all Policies and Procedures as designated by Lake Nona Wave Hotel.• Support and insure compliance of all local, state and federal regulations.• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.
Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent required.Technical training in HVAC, electrical or building maintenance required.
- A minimum of 4 years as a HVAC technician in the hospitality or service industry.
- Valid drivers’ license.
- Will be required to work flexible schedules to include weekends, nights, and holidays.
Licenses/CertificatesMust be EPA certified with at least Type II or better.
