Lakeshore Talent is partnering with a fast-growing, consumer-facing lifestyle and fitness brand to hire a Senior Social Media Manager. This is a highly visible, senior-level role with full ownership of social media strategy, execution, and team leadership during a critical period of rebrand and growth.
This position must be filled quickly to ensure continuity and momentum ahead of an upcoming leadership transition. We are seeking a confident, hands-on social leader who can hit the ground running.
Salary: $105,000 – $115,000
Bonus: 10% annual bonus potential
Location:

- Hybrid schedule (9:00am–5:00pm)
- Illinois-based candidates may be fully remote

Role Overview
The Senior Social Media Manager will own social media strategy and execution across multiple platforms, with a strong emphasis on TikTok and Instagram. This role manages a Social Media Assistant and partners closely with creative, paid media, PR, operations, and regional teams to deliver high-performing, social-first content.
This is a strategic and operational role focused on growing brand awareness, engagement, and community with Gen Z and Millennial audiences, while tying social performance directly to business outcomes.
Occasional in-field content creation is required, typically 1–2 times per month (batched), with up to once per week during heavier content periods.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
- Own and execute end-to-end social media strategy aligned to brand and business goals
- Define KPIs, success metrics, and test-and-learn initiatives
- Develop and deliver monthly performance reporting with actionable insights
- Build scalable workflows and processes to support a growing social team
Creative & Content Leadership
- Lead multi-platform content planning and calendar management (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Threads, X)
- Translate insights and trends into clear creative briefs and content directions
- Write and oversee platform-specific, on-brand copy with a strong tone of voice
- Manage content scheduling and publishing using social management tools (Sprout or similar preferred)
TikTok Ownership (Non-Negotiable)
- Fully own TikTok as a brand marketing channel (not personal or creator-only accounts)
- Develop platform-native strategies tailored to Gen Z behaviors and trends
- Measure, optimize, and scale performance based on data and insights
Influencer, Creator & Paid Media Collaboration
- Lead influencer, creator, and ambassador programs from strategy through execution
- Partner closely with paid media teams and agencies to develop high-performing creative
- Execute low-budget boosting across Meta and TikTok and translate results into recommendations
Production & Execution
- Drive content production from ideation through post-production
- Coordinate logistics such as shot lists, schedules, and location access
- Support in-location content capture and events to ensure authentic storytelling
Community & Brand Voice
- Monitor brand mentions, trends, and audience conversations
- Guide community management best practices and escalation protocols
- Build emotional connection and engagement with priority audiences
Leadership & Collaboration
- Manage and mentor at least one direct report
- Collaborate cross-functionally with creative, brand, PR, paid media, and operations
- Partner with Finance on creator budgets, contracts, and invoicing
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 6–9 years of social media experience in fast-moving, brand-driven environments
- Prior people management experience required
- Proven senior-level ownership of social strategy and execution
- Deep expertise in TikTok for brand marketing
- Strong copywriting and creative direction skills
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and fast-changing environments
- Agency experience welcome
- Industry background not required — passion for brand-building is key
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field
- 6–9 years of social media strategy and content experience
- 2 years of people management experience
- Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube
- Demonstrated success engaging Gen Z and Millennial audiences
- Experience with influencer, creator, or ambassador programs
- Data-driven mindset with strong reporting and optimization skills
