Job Title: QC Scientist
Location : Urbana, IL
Duration : 12 months contract
Shift : 8:30-AM - 5:00-PM
Pay Range : $25.00 - $28.00 USD hourly on W2
Job Description:
Responsible for quality control aspects of multiple upcoming business opportunities including the management, coordination, and oversight of new project development, method development, and R&D. Collaboration with current QC lab staff will be vital, however primary ownership of schedules, plans, deliverables, and success of project oversite will fall to this role. Also act as the primary operator responsible for preparing standards, prepping samples, performing testing, analyzing data, and making usage decisions for both R&D and finished goods for analytical testing on oxygen analyzer. Adhering to the testing schedule and lab workload as defined by QC senior scientist. Observing and assisting as needed with instrument oxygen analyzer maintenance and troubleshooting and equipment calibration and preventive maintenance. Following quality system guidelines including SOPs, change controls, deviation reporting, good documentation practices, etc. Completing and remain current with all required training. Responsible for additional QC duties as assigned.
Physical Attributes:
• Able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted
• Able to sit, stand, hear and use hands to operate equipment for extend periods of time
• Able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE)
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or other physical science
• 1 years of analytical laboratory experience
Preferred Qualifications:
• Project management experience
• Effective communication skills with all levels of staff, both verbal and written
• Exceptional organizational skills and an ability to multitask
• Experience in the chemical manufacturing industry
