Finance Technician

• High School Diploma required
• Associate's degree preferred

• Accounts Payable and Receivable experience preferred

• Ability to work both independently and cooperatively as a team member.
• Demonstrated ability to manage department work flow with an emphasis on customer service and timeliness.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Excellent organization skills.
• Experience and proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Word
• Strong analytical, research, and mathematical aptitude
• Dependable and able to handle confidential information with discretion

• Provides financial record keeping in accordance with district, state and federal policies and requirements.
• Prepare periodic and annual special financial reports as required.
• Prepare and assist with accounting functions.
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, grant monitoring and general ledger functions.
• Matches and reconciles receiving information and purchase orders to vendor invoices and prepared documents for processing.
• Processes weekly computer-printed accounts payable check runs and distributes payments to vendors.
• Verifies financial information for accuracy.
• Processes and enacts bank transactions.
• Assists in the preparation of audit processes.
• Provide exceptional support to staff and external individuals.
• Prepare journal entries.
