Requirements
In this role, the Staff Accountant is responsible for analyzing our front office night audit work for accuracy and completeness, verifying allowances and miscellaneous postings for proper authorization, preparing and issuing the Daily Sales Reports to Leadership. This role also will be preparing, reviewing, and issuing monthly reports for complimentary sales, resort fees, and membership aging as well as timely review of credit card chargebacks and adjustments.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and Issue the Daily Sales Reports each day
- Settle credit card transactions and verify balances agree with PMS, and POS Ledgers
- Sort and file all back up received in the night audit pack
- Review the pass down from the Front Desk/Night Audit Team for issues or concerns of the previous day
- Work closely with Front Desk and Outlets to ensure postings are accurate and discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner
- Review & prepare all comps and allowances reports
- Respond to guest inquiries regarding billing charges and adjustments
- Maintain proper filing and record retention
- Witness and verify the daily cash drops and deposits to the bank with the General Cashier. Investigate and follow-up on any shortages/ overage from General Cashier's envelope on daily basis
- Research and respond in a timely manner to all Credit Card Chargeback inquires with proper backup and response.
- Review the Resort Guest Ledger balances and communicate discrepancies and concerns to Departments Heads and Assistant Director of Finance.
- Participate in conducting Inventory on a quarterly basis in F&B, Spa and Gift Shop
- Assist with Member billing inquiries and collection
- Review Tax Exemption certificates and support.
- Assist with Internal & External annual audits to ensure the Hotel is following all necessary financial controls.
- Assist with month end and other Departmental duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- 2-3 years income audit experience in accounting, preferably in a hospitality role
- Knowledge of Hotel Property Management and POS systems is a plus
- Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance or Hospitality or related accounting experience in prior Income Audit role
- Strong Communication skills both verbal and written
- Strong Excel and MS Office Skills
- Ability to work flexible work schedules including some weekends.
