What are the responsibilities and job description for the Diversion Specialist position at Larimer County?

Specifically, this position:
- Assesses an individual client's needs and risks, identifies appropriate agencies and makes necessary referrals, makes changes as necessary, and tracks the individual's progress.
- Performs direct supervision of youth, including home and school visits, and case staffing.
- Tracks and maintains records of client compliance/non-compliance.
- Communicates with supervising attorney and victims' advocates to ensure compliance with the Victims' Rights Amendment.
- Serve as a liaison between the District Attorney's Office and schools, agency partners or treatment provider
We are looking for a candidate that will:
- Synthesizes information from various parties and modifies diversion plan accordingly.
- Understands the criminal and juvenile justice systems and the role diversion plays.
- Is familiar with SOMB standards.
- Understands current counseling concepts and techniques.
- Comfortable presenting to youth, families or only adults involved in the criminal justice system.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Social Work, Criminal Justice, Sociology, Psychology, or related field required.
- Two (2) years' experience in the fields of social work, criminal justice, counseling, or similar related field required.
- Possession of a valid driver's license by date of hire required.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred.

This position is limited-term. Individuals hired into limited-term positions are eligible for County benefits, however, the position is limited in duration and dependent upon available funding, business need or signed contract or agreement.
