Controller

A religiously affiliated, philanthropic organization is seeking an experienced Controller to lead and elevate its accounting and finance functions. This organization is dedicated to fostering cooperation between diverse communities while providing humanitarian aid globally. Controller Responsibilities:

• Oversee all areas of accounting, including monthly close processes, financial reporting, and budgeting
• Lead a team of four direct reports, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development
• Collaborate cross-functionally with senior leadership, including the VP and Senior Director of Finance, to drive strategic initiatives
• Develop and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and support organizational growth
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including preparation and review of Form 990 filings
• Contribute to strategic financial planning to support the organization's growth from $280M to $300M in revenue
• Maintain a balance between hands-on involvement and strategic oversight to elevate the team and overall performance

Controller Requirements:

• CPA certification required
• 7 years of accounting experience, including non-profit accounting and familiarity with Form 990
• 3 years of management experience, with a proven ability to lead and mentor teams
• Demonstrated success in process improvement and supporting organizational growth
• Experience at the Director, Controller, or CFO level is preferred
• Strong technical accounting skills and a strategic mindset
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
