Medical Records and Referrals

Description

Compiles, assembles, processes and maintains medical records in a correct, prescribed order. Maintains medical records in such a way that they are complete and available for ongoing patient care. As a member of the total patient care team, must cooperatively and effectively meet organizational work standards. 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Obtains and prepares medical records for scanning process. 
• Determine correct scanning settings to ensure quality of each document scanned. 
• Scan documents into patient’s electronic medical record and files them in the appropriate folders. 
• Assign all incoming reports, i.e. labs, consults, to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner. 
• Assists with processing of all release of information requests as per the established workflows. 
• Other responsibilities as requested by management.

Qualifications 

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must be detail oriented.
• Must be flexible and able to work independently.
• Must demonstrate proficiency using computer and electronic imaging technology.
