Title: Dietary Aides
Department: Dining Services, Skilled Nursing
Status: Part Time
Shift: Evening (3:45 pm - 8:00 pm)
Requirements for Dietary Aides:
- High School Graduate or GED
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language
- Must have working knowledge of HACCP and OSHA protocols
- Must be a detail oriented person and be able to perform duties with great accuracy each day
- Must be able to work overtime, holidays, weekends as assigned
- Must be able to interface with people at all levels and with residents in a positive and professional manner
Responsibilities for Dietary Aides:
- Responsible for proper food delivery to dining rooms per production sheets and plating food in accordance to their meal ticket while working to prevent cross-contamination.
- Understanding of the special therapeutic or mechanically altered offered to the residents.
- Cooking to order, a limited number of menu items per specifications.
- Ensure that food is cooked to and held at the proper temperatures in accordance with the Ohio Uniform Food Code.
- Ensure that food holding temperatures are recorded at each meal.
- Ensure that dishwashing and rinsing temperatures are recorded each shift.
- Ensure that cooler and freezer temperatures are recorded.
- Reporting any unsafe temperatures or other safety concerns to a supervisor.
- Stocking kitchen, dining rooms and pantries with all supplies (snack, milk, napkins, tableware, etc.).
- Clear and reset dining room/wash all soiled dishes, utensils, glassware and tableware.
- Complete dining room side work including: folding napkins, filling salt/pepper shakers, filling sugar caddy, etc.
- Properly clean and sanitize dining room, kitchen equipment, transportation carts and all aspects associated with job function as written in the cleaning schedule and as needed.
- Proper labeling, dating and storage of all food products.
- Perform service techniques and procedures to ensure proper and efficient meal service.
- Maintain good personal hygiene practices including a clean, neat appearance and complete uniform.
- Understanding before each meal service every menu item well enough to answer resident's questions.
