What are the responsibilities and job description for the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) position at Lawrence Public Schools?

Lawrence Public Schools has seen tremendous value in the work of Behavior Analysts, and we continue to add additional BCBAs to the district. As we continue to grow it has become clear that there are 2 different roles of the BCBA depending on the buildings supported. One has more emphasis on working with students in Sub Separate classrooms and the other is working at a school that may not have sub separate classrooms. The two roles are listed below. Sub Separate: *Provide consultation to students at elementary or secondary levels with a variety of learning needs and learner profiles supported in the sub-separate classroom setting. *Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments, Conduct Applied Behavior Screener Assessments, Conduct skills-based assessments (VBMAPP, ABLLS-R, AFLS, Socially Savvy) , Design (as part of a multidisciplinary team) and draft classroom wide behavior management systems and individualized behavior intervention plans. *Develop a variety of behaviorally based programming and corresponding materials to include DTT and NET teaching methodologies. *Provide continued review and refinement of behaviorally based programming in order to meet student IEP goals and objectives. *Collect and analyze data and prepare a variety of reports for the purpose of documenting case history, assessments, and treatment needs. *Conduct initial and ongoing staff training specific to behaviorally based teaching practices. *Work effectively with team members, professional and community contacts, school staff and parents, ensuring collaboration and continuity of services across home and community environments. *Supervise BCBA candidates within the Lawrence Public School District, as appropriate, Supervise Registered Behavior Technicians within the Lawrence Public School District as needed**** *Perform related duties as assigned by the Director of Behavioral Health, Special Education Zone Director, Assistant Superintendent of Student Support Services or designee. *Travel from site to site and/or perform necessary school visits for the purpose of providing consultation and collaboration for students and families. General Education: *Provide consultation to students at the elementary or secondary levels, through tiered systems of support (MTSS, RTII, PBIS) within the general education setting. *Assessments: Conduct Environmental Observations and Corresponding Reports, Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments, Design (as part of a multidisciplinary team) and draft classroom wide behavior management systems and individualized behavior intervention plans. *Provide continued review and refinement of behavior supporting plan programming in order to meet student needs within the general education setting. *Conduct initial and ongoing staff training. *Collect and analyze data and prepare a variety of reports for the purpose of documenting case history, assessments, and treatment needs. *Manage behavioral crisis situations: modeling interventions, staff training, crisis plan and behavior support plan development, and team and family follow up. *Work effectively with team members, professional and community contacts, school staff and parents, ensuring collaboration and continuity of services across home and community environments. *Perform related duties as assigned by the Director of Behavioral Health, Special Education Zone Director, Assistant Superintendent of Student Support Services or designee. *Travel from site to site and/or perform necessary school visits for the purpose of providing consultation and collaboration for students and families.

Salary : $49,411 - $73,911
