Reports to: Director of Inclusion
Description: Supervised by the Director of Inclusion, The Inclusive Ed Behavior Specialist provides in situ training to paraprofessionals related to building capacity in the application of behavioral best practices and student specific interventions (as appropriate). Inclusive Ed Behavior Specialists train paraprofessionals, use data to support their training efforts related to behavior support strategies and ongoing use of evidence based practices. Inclusive Ed behavior specialists work to train support staff in the carry over of applied approaches into the general education setting.
The Inclusive Ed Behavior Specialist will develop appropriate relationships with all staff and students. They will build positive and productive relationships with students and leverage those relationships to fully engage students in their learning environment by reinforcing the demonstration of replacement behaviors in a variety of environments.
The Inclusive Ed Behavior Specialist will: coach and train paraprofessionals in use of multi-tiered interventions for all students; use data to inform decision making; and use data to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.
Ongoing Job Responsibilities
● Model and provide ongoing in-situ coaching of relevant techniques (based on classroom team/student need)
● Adhere to department developed training practices (use of Behavior Skills Training model)
● Complete ongoing documentation relative to training provided (e.g. training notes after each training contact)
● Provide the Director of Inclusion Education/Inclusive Education Team with updates on staff trainings provided
● Provide post-training check in meetings at predetermined intervals
● Participate in weekly/bi-weekly Inclusive Education Team meetings
● Lead staff training related to evidenced-based best practices in the areas of Inclusive Education and environmental/structure supports
● Understand school-wide student expectations and actively support student development and growth
● Consistently and enthusiastically promote the expectation of high achievement for all students and reinforce school- wide rules and expectations
● Collaborate with faculty and staff to promote a positive learning climate for students
● Reinforce the implementation Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS)
● Requires daily travel to one or more district school locations based on assignment
Additional Responsibilities May Include:
● Willingness to identify student preferences and deliver reinforcement based on identified motivators
● Participation in initial and on-going training related to Practical Functional Assessment, Skills Based Treatment and Universal Protocols.
● Assist in Practical Functional Assessment procedures and implement Skills Based Treatment procedures with identified students.
● Utilize data collection software to track student progress through Skills Based Treatment
● Complete session notes and other documentation specific to Skills Based Treatment sessions
● Participate in weekly team meetings regarding current Skills Based Treatment cases
● Assist with training on the use of student specific Universal Protocols with school-based paraprofessionals, teachers and other relevant staff

Salary : $50,000 - $55,000
