Our healthcare client is seeking a Senior Accountant. The Sr. Accountant is responsible for the overall financial accounting and record maintenance of all facilities to which he/she is assigned. Act as liaison between the facilities, the facility accounting department and management for accounting issues. Maintain overall supervision, training and review of assigned staff accountants. Present for work in a timely manner, groomed professionally in accordance with Company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee accounting functions for assigned facilities:
- Month-end journal entries
- Financial statement review
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Bank account reconciliations
- Fixed asset schedules
- Oversee and ensure all financial and statutory deadlines are met.
- Maintain daily supervision, training and review of assigned staff accountants.
- Participate in management meetings as needed.
- Maintain contact with regional and facility staff to ensure business office needs are met.
- Able to work 40 hours per week, plus extended hours when required by deadlines.
Background/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- 2 years of month-end close general ledger accounting experience. Multi-site healthcare experience is a plus.
- Proven ability to meet financial and statutory reporting deadlines.
- Exhibit ability to be efficient with time while also maintaining accuracy of work.
- Must be flexible, self-motivated, handle multiple tasks/projects, able to work in a fast-paced changing environment.
- Possess excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Possess organization and problem-solving skills to deal with technical accounting issues as well as personnel issues.
- Proficiencies in Excel related to journal entries, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
