What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Associate position at Leaders Furniture?
Leaders Furniture® is a 53-year-old, financially stable, multi-store retail furniture company. We are currently looking for self-motivated individuals to join our Distribution Center Team. The ideal candidate is interested in learning new skills and continuous improvement.
This role will work as a team member in the efficient operation and daily functions of the Distribution Center. You must display a positive attitude and work with all team members as one cohesive unit to accomplish these goals. As a Warehouse Associate you will scan, sort, and move product throughout the building from one department to the next. You will work with your team to prepare customer orders and load furniture onto our trucks for delivery to our customers.
Job Duties:
- Handling and Moving Objects
- Receive oral instructions to determine work assignments.
- Sort, move and unwrap items and assist other team members as needed before loading customer orders onto delivery vehicles.
- Scan items with handheld barcode scanner.
- Move items from department to department as needed for the completion of the daily assignments.
- Load customer orders on delivery vehicles.
- Unload trailers and containers, as needed
- Tag and scan merchandise into the warehouse management system.
- Clean work area as needed.
- Train and learn the duties of positions in other departments.
- Be willing to undergo forklift training and become a certified lift operator for an elevated (cherry picker) lift truck.
- Rotate between departments as needed.
Requirements:
- Positive can-do attitude
- Be reliable and on time for work.
- Lift up to 50 lbs individually and over 50 lbs in a team lift.
- Pass an in-house drug test and multi-state background screening
- Must be eligible to work in the US for any employer.
- Fluent in English
