About the role : SUMMARY OF POSITION
What you'll do :
LEARN's KidsPlay Program provides an organized gender specific athletic league for boys and girls in grades 3-8. The emphasis of KidsPlay is to provide an opportunity to participate in sports, build skills, and develop confidence in learning new and healthy fundamental lifestyle skills. The KidsPlay program requires a knowledgeable set of coaches for a successful program. A KidsPlay coach will be working in a fast-paced environment, and should be energetic while having the physical ability to be on their feet for long periods of time (standing, walking, and even running during sporting events). KidsPlay Coaches will be teaching relevant skills, tactics, and strategic techniques to students in order to reach team goals and individual milestones within specific sports offered by the program. The position entails monitoring and enhancing performance by providing developmental skill building, encouragement, and constructive feedback to a group of youth.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure the supervision and safety of assigned students at all times during program hours.
- Evaluate performance and provide suitable feedback, balancing constructive criticism with positivity and motivation.
- Assess strengths and weaknesses in a participant's performance and identify areas for further development.
- Adapt to the needs and interests of the group or individual participant.
- Facilitate successful practices using one's knowledge and understanding of the current sport
- Demonstrate an activity by breaking the task down into a sequence
Provide organized and structured physical activity
Qualifications :
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
1. Graduation from High School
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
LANGUAGE & COMPUTER SKILLS
The ability to speak Spanish Mandarin, Cantonese and Vietnamese is desired at many of our school sites
PHYSICAL SKILLS

Condition of Employment & Benefits :
This is a Part-Time Casual, non-benefited, non-exempt, hourly position. This
position requires the candidate to be available to work five days per week,
Monday through Friday, during program hours, which is primarily after school and
occasionally on weekends. Hours of work will vary, but will not exceed 29 hours per
week; specific times and schedules vary, depending upon the school and the needs of
the program.
The work calendar for Youth Leaders and all other part-time casual field staff aligns with
the academic calendars of our partner school districts. The job has recess breaks
during fall, winter, spring and summer. The job resumes after every break and staff are
expected to return to work on the date requested by LEARN.
The pay range for this role is :
21 - 21 USD per hour (All Locations)
