POSITION SUMMARY

To perform this job successfully, the Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations for the warehouse function, including administrative and clerical functions, to ensure efficient operations and a safe working environment.  

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Supervise and control the work load of assigned personnel.
  • Maintain daily attendance and schedule staff vacation.
  • Responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring the day-to-day operations of the warehouse function to ensure established procedures for shipping, product rotation, sanitation, safety, and timeliness are met or exceeded.
  • Monitor loading, dispatch, and receiving plans are met and make appropriate changes as necessary.
  • Monitor and complete numerous computer-based and manual reports and related paperwork, including time records, daily logs, and damage reports, etc.
  • Ensure appropriate system transactions are entered in a timely manner.
  • Monitor product damage and audit routes to ensure reliable product delivery.
  • Develop and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Routinely inform and communicate with employees on warehouse productivity, safety, and sanitation policies and procedures to ensure OSHA compliance.
  • Ensure that accidents and workers’ compensation claims are reported to Human Resources for investigation and reporting action.
  • Resolve workplace conflicts utilizing positive employee relations.
  • Ensure that all warehouse equipment is operated properly and safely.
  • Plan and coordinate vehicle and equipment maintenance utilizing logs.
  • Assign necessary housekeeping tasks to ensure a neat, clean, organized, and safe working environment.
  • Ability to travel as needed to meet business demands.     
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Directly and indirectly supervises 20 employees in the Warehouse Function.  The Warehouse Supervisor must carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.   Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each major responsibility satisfactorily.   1. EDUCATION, SKILLS and EXPERIENCE
  • This position requires A.A. degree at a minimum and three years of warehouse supervisory experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.        
  • The employee must have a valid driver’s license and excellent driving record to perform essential job functions.  
  • Must be able to safely drive and operate a forklift. 
  • Possess bar coding experience and inventory control concepts.  
  • Ideal candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.  SAP experience is desired. 
  • Ideal candidate must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations in a practical manner. 
  •  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.  

  

  1. LANGUAGE SKILLS
  • Successful candidate must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, Chinese is a plus.  
  • Excellent customer service skills with ability to present favorable company image to staff and customers.  
  • Effectively communicate safety policies, practices, and procedures to meet safety objectives. 

 

  1. MATHEMATICLA SKILLS

Ideal candidate must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide with ability to operate in units of US currency, and measure in units of volume, and distance.

  • Employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
