Legacy Building Solutions is hiring for an additional Staff Accountant!
This role will focus on payroll, account reconciliation, month-end close, recording of journal entries, maintain accurate supporting documentation in the accounting systems.
You must have a good blend of customer service and accounting skills while meeting Legacy’s vison.
The Staff Accountant position is a full-time permanent position located in our corporate office located in South Haven, MN and will report to our CFO.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Commission computations
- Process all subcontractor invoices
- Payroll – Process payroll, reconcile in Ceridian for US and Canada, following established company procedures
- Process and enter all deposits and incoming checks into QuickBooks
- Research and investigate discrepancies
- Monitor credit cards and bank accounts daily
- Update, verify and maintain accounting journals and ledgers and other financial records
- Process all payments and invoices, obtain approvals and post in accounting system, M Files
- Assist with all audit preparation
- Create PO’s
- Process all accounts payable payments on a weekly basis
- Monitor the Accounting inbox for the department
- Assisting with processing month end
- Perform other duties as needed or assigned
- Work closely with the extended accounting team to implement appropriate controls around financial record keeping and accounting activities

JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 1 – 3 years of accounting experience with an associate degree in accounting
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred but not required
- Experience with payroll processing
- Experience processing prevailing wages
- Advanced skills and proficient with Excel and MS Office, with knowledge of MS Access a plus
- Proficient in QuickBooks
- Experience creating financial statements from start to finish
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting and bookkeeping principles and procedures
- Must possess a high level of integrity and confidentiality
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of management
- Detail oriented and analytical

- Ability to work in a team environment
- Demonstrates the ability to manage a variety of priorities while meeting deadlines
- Ability to work independently on assigned duties
