Position Overview
The Sound at St. Martin is seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Assistant Community Director to join our leadership team in Biloxi, MS. This is not an entry-level role — we are looking for someone with a proven track record in property management who thrives in a fast-paced environment, understands how to drive performance, and genuinely enjoys building community.
As the Assistant Community Director, you will be responsible for supporting day-to-day operations, overseeing marketing and outreach, driving leasing performance, and maintaining high standards in resident satisfaction and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Community Operations
- Assist in managing daily operations including leasing, maintenance, resident relations, and financial performance.
- Ensure accurate execution of lease files, applications, rent postings, and other administrative tasks.
- Conduct routine property walks to identify maintenance, safety, and curb appeal opportunities.
- Monitor and report on occupancy, collections, renewals, and team productivity.
Marketing, Leasing & Outreach
- Lead and implement social media marketing, digital content, and community reputation efforts.
- Proactively conduct outreach marketing to local employers, schools, and businesses to drive qualified traffic.
- Support leasing performance by promoting community features and creating a standout resident experience.
- Track market trends and assist in pricing strategies to remain competitive.
Resident Relations
- Build genuine relationships with residents and respond to concerns with professionalism and urgency.
- Plan and promote community events to enhance resident satisfaction and retention.
- Manage resident follow-ups, renewals, and service feedback.
Compliance & Leadership
- Ensure full compliance with Fair Housing laws and all local/state regulations.
- Support training of new team members and contribute to a culture of accountability and collaboration.
- Partner with the Community Director and Regional Team to execute property goals.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Assistant Community Manager or Assistant Property Manager (Required)
- Strong understanding of leasing, collections, renewals, and operational compliance
- Proficiency with property management software and Microsoft Office
- Experience managing social media accounts and marketing content
- Ability to work independently, problem-solve, and multitask
- Knowledge of Fair Housing laws and best practices
- Valid driver’s license (preferred)
- Must be able to commute or relocate to Biloxi, MS prior to start
Compensation
- Starting at $16/hour
- Pay is negotiable based on experience and performance
- Minimum of 40 hours per week
