Agency: LegalCORPS is Minnesota's only statewide business law pro bono program. In response to an unmet need for equitable transactional business law services, LegalCORPS has filled that gap with a roster of over 600 pro bono attorneys, as well as staff attorneys. Our mission is to expand access to business law services for individuals and organizations to promote economic development and strengthen communities. LegalCORPS offers non-litigation transactional business and intellectual property protection legal aid to entrepreneurs, business owners, inventors, and nonprofits with limited resources and/or access to the legal system.
Position Summary: The Pro Bono Engagement Specialist will be responsible for providing customer support through the intake process, project coordination, website, and database updates and maintenance. In addition, this role will focus on our Entrepreneurs in Our Community (EOC) program and will work on client needs assessments and matching, facilitating clients from partner organizations, supporting in-house attorneys, and assist with legal research around client matters within the programs with direction and support from the directors and other staff. The candidate should be enthusiastic about taking a client-centered and business-oriented approach to representing the clients of a small economic development legal aid agency. Individuals should be prepared to promote a culture of ethics, integrity, and compliance.

Position Duties Summary:
· Provide program support for all programs with a specialization in one to two of the four programs; will be cross-trained in other program for back-up purposes;
· Work with both in-house and pro bono attorneys to ensure clients are tracked;
· Monitor program emails and voicemails, and respond to inquiries according to documented protocol;
· Schedule client consultations and clinic appointments for programs;
· Assists with managing coordination of workshops for all programs; location, scheduling, presenters;
· Provide client reminders before every workshop and brief advice consultation;
· Assist Pro Bono Programs Director with limited scope matching and case closing reports;
· Communicate and set expectations with stakeholders -- colleagues, pro bono attorneys, clients, and law students – to ensure cases move seamlessly through process;
· Represent LegalCORPS in outreach efforts at offsite community and law school events;
· Ensure complete and accurate records of contacts, clients, volunteers, and cases in Salesforce and other recordkeeping databases;
· Assist with statistical client and volunteer tracking;
· Assists directors and executive director with other tasks and special projects as needed.

Qualifications:
· 4-year degree with experience in similar roles preferred; Associates degree and 4 years’ experience in similar role can substitute for a 4-year degree.
· Strong interpersonal and communications skills, including the ability to adapt to the needs of diverse constituencies.
· Proficiency in technology use, such as Microsoft Office applications or other database software for recordkeeping and reporting systems, familiarity with video conferencing platforms.
· High comfort level in learning various forms of technology.
· Excellent written communication skills.
· Good judgment and ability to work independently.
· Understanding of law and legal systems; familiarity with Minnesota and surrounding state’s legal community preferred.
· Ability to handle multiple tasks with varying deadlines.
· Proven organizational skills and detail oriented.
· Bi-lingual in Spanish, Somali, or Hmong a plus.

Work Location: Work Location: Office located at Minneapolis University of St. Thomas campus, 1000 LaSalle Ave, TMH 331, Minneapolis, MN 55403. This position is currently expected to be hybrid, meaning 2-3 days per week in the office. Hybrid work arrangement is subject to change.
Compensation is based on various factors including experience, education and performance. LegalCORPS employees are eligible for health insurance coverage, paid time off and paid holidays in accordance with its policies.
