The Quality Control Technician is an entry level role, responsible for performing standard daily Quality Control checks on various food products that are produced each day.

The Quality Control Technician is an entry level role, responsible for performing standard daily Quality Control checks on various food products that are produced each day.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Records and compiles documentation and reports each day.
- Performs checks on manufacturing systems including scale calibrations, weight checks, metal detection tests, chemical concentration verification, and work area inspections.
- Performs checks on product quality, to ensure compliance with set specifications such as weight, smell, color, taste, texture, and other product attributes.
- Maintains documentation and records testing results as required by governing agencies.
- Tastes or smells food products to ensure that flavors meet specifications or specific characteristics.
- Promotes quality standards and food safety practices through interactions with production staff.
- Takes immediate corrective action when dealing with Food Safety and Food Quality issues and reports these issues to the Department Manager or Food Safety Manager for further action, if required.
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Experience in the food industry with knowledge and skills in quality control of food products is desired.
- Must have good communication skills both oral and written.
- Must have ability to learn the various attributes specific for each product/process.
- Must have the ability to evaluate the quality of products and processes. Determine root cause for non-compliances and provide potential solutions to issues that may arise.
- Must have good time management skills.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
