Leila Day is in search of a high energy, enthusiastic teacher assistant for our After School Program who is familiar with and willing to learn about outdoor education and working with young children in an after-school context.

Duties
Assistant Teachers will collaborate with the Lead Teacher in cultivating an environment of creativity, exploration, and joy while supporting the emergent ideas of young children and helping them learn and grow. In addition, Assistant Teachers will help the Lead Teacher manage the classroom, including, but not limited to, light cleaning, classroom organization, and curriculum planning. The Leila Day After School Program supports families with children in grades K-3.
After School Program hours are 2:30-5:30.
Salary is dependent on upon experience and education
Requirements
We are looking for someone with experience in outdoor education with this age group (or at a minimum, a willingness to spend time with children outdoors and in the woods, and a commitment to learn more about outdoor education), who can physically keep up with a rambunctious group of 6-11 year olds, and can work cooperatively with the head teacher to further the goals of the afterschool program.
