What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Assembly Operator position at Leonardo Electronics US Inc?

Job Purpose:

Responsible for the assembly of high-power laser diode devices. Perform hands-on entry-level die attach and mechanical assembly.

Positions available are second and third shifts.

Duties:

  • Perform LIV test on various laser diode assemblies.
  • Operate burn-in towers, temperature cycle chambers, and various test equipment.
  • Operate Coordinate-measuring machine (CMM).
  • Perform inspection using low-powered microscopes.
  • Work with small hand tools such as tweezers, vacuum wands, torque, and hex drivers.
  • Troubleshoot issues to improve yield.
  • Notify area Supervisor/Lead of any yield issues.
  • Assist in updating documentation to ensure every production process is documented and controlled.
  • Accurately enter data into manufacturing interfaces and Excel spreadsheets.


Skills/Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent is required. Attention to detail and mechanical dexterity is required. One year of mechanical assembly experience is preferred. Familiarity with MS Excel, MS Access, MS Word and PowerPoint desirable. Ability to work independently under direct supervision. Ability to work in 10,000 class clean room environment wearing bunny suit, face mask, head mask and gloves for entire production shift. Sit at workstation for the majority of production shift.
