What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kitchen Steward position at LEXINGTON CHRISTIAN ACADEMY?
The Main Campus Kitchen Steward at Lexington Christian Academy (LCA) is responsible for cleaning, stocking the market space in the dining room, serving hot meals, and preparing ready to eat foods on Main Campus throughout the school year. The position is part time, with typical hours from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. However, hours may vary due to the needs of the students and special events. North Campus shifts may also be expected of the Main Campus Kitchen Steward from time to time.
Responsibilities & Expectations
read and follow recipes, pull and prepare food for following days, receive and rotate inventory, and serve food to students, staff, faculty, and guests
follow the direction of the Executive Chef and the lunch Cook, as well as the leadership team to ensure that healthy food is served in a prompt and cost effective manner
arrive for shifts clean, presentable, and in a work appropriate uniform
perform end of day cleaning of the kitchen, as well as maintaining a clean work environment during the shift
train to use the point of sale system to appropriately charge those receiving food
additional tasks as assigned
Qualifications

This position requires the ability to stand for long periods of time, reach, bend, push and/or pull, and lift up to 35 pounds
2 years experience in food service required
Servsafe training is preferred
