The Quality Control Engineer will operate as the Quality Partner with Manufacturing Engineering in root cause analysis of production issues (rework, scrap, etc.) to compel yield improvement, implement process control and revise documentation in support of the Quality Department.
Principal Qualifications of the Quality Control Engineer include the following:
- B.S. in engineering or physical sciences preferred: electrical, industrial, manufacturing, materials science, or mechanical engineering, or electrical technology
- Three (3) years of technical experience in Manufacturing/Quality
- Competence in Six Sigma analytical tools and Lean Manufacturing methods - willing to train
- Experience working in an electronics manufacturing facility preferred
- Superior communication skills; coaching and leadership qualities with tact and diplomacy
- A high-energy, team-player – hungry to learn, share skills and operate as a constructive agent of change
- Outstanding planning skills: able to prioritize, work under pressure and deliver against deadlines
- Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced, lean environment
- Strong analytical ability
- Solid computer skills
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform inspections of parts and subassemblies according to well defined criteria using standard inspection tools (Caliper, Height gage, Gage Pin, Micrometer, Thread gages, hard gages)
- Accurately document the results of inspections and testing
- Maintain all controlled document files and test records
- Assist in creating and updating inspection templates
- Communicate effectively with all levels of employees
- Maintain the highest degree of honesty and integrity
- Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures
