SUMMARY
Provide quality control engineering support to the manufacturing groups throughout the product realization process, ensuring a high level of quality production and adherence to the Quality Management System, all applicable government regulations, and customer requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Implement and support activities related to the development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for manufacturing processes, materials, and products. Apply total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes.
  • Develop and initiate standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation of product. Devise sampling plans and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality data. Create, document, and support the implementation of inspection plans to ensure products and processes meet all customer requirements.
  • Implement and support the product realization process including Risk Analysis (PFMEA), Control Plans, SPC, Gage R&R Studies and Process Capability. Support qualification and validation programs (IQ, OQ, PQ) to verify all equipment and instruments related to the process (as required by customer) and any other product realization activities as needed.
  • Investigate the root cause of customer and/or supplier rejections and internal quality failures, disposition the non-conforming parts, recommend and implement effective corrective action as required, and provide accurate and timely responses to internal and external customers.
  • Troubleshoot production and/or quality issues on the production floor, as well as perform in-process inspection audits, providing appropriate technical assistance to operators to ensure compliance with inspection frequencies, documentation requirements and process controls, in addition to identifying and implementing process improvements.
  • Implement the Process Change Control process for changes related to quality control, ensuring timely review and disposition of the change, the requirements of customer agreements are met, customer communication is accurate and timely, the updates to and/or containment of the product and documentation is executed, and any required training is implemented and documented.
  • Provide on-the-job training to production associates as needed to improve competency levels regarding inspection plans and techniques.
  • Understand and comply with company policies, safety guidelines, quality system procedures, and housekeeping standards.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, preferably in engineering, and 3-5 years related experience, preferably in a regulated manufacturing environment.
Required
• Ability to read, write and speak English. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general public.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Experience with computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, graphs, databases, and presentations.
• Experience with process capability, Gage R&R, and statistical techniques.
• Experience in using basic and advanced measuring tools and equipment (calipers, micrometers, probes, CMM, Comparator, etc.)
• Applied knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Capable of working independently as well as collaborating and coordinating efforts with colleagues.
• Ability to establish priorities and manage multiple activities and requirements in a changing, fast-paced environment.
