What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrator, Special Education Supervisor position at Lincoln Public Schools?
The Supervisor for Special Education, under the direction of the Director of Special Education, is a member of the district special education administrator team, including the director, assistant director, and four supervisors. The supervisor is responsible for providing district leadership support to schools, district teams, staff, parents, and students.
- Must qualify for, or hold, a valid Nebraska Administrative certificate with special education endorsement
- Master's or specialist's degree in educational administration; doctorate preferred
- Demonstrated successful administrative/leadership experience required along with a commitment to working in a culturally diverse learning environment.
- Position to begin July 1, 2026.
Duties will include, but not be limited to:
- Plan and facilitate special education professional development
- Manage and lead the Vision Team, Deaf/Blind Team, and O&M Programs
- Manage and lead the New Coordinator Support/SE Liaisons
- Co-Lead the OT/PT Teams
- Monitor the level transition process for students in grades K, 6, and 9
- Collaborate with other departments to provide para-educator training
- Provide support for a minimum of ten LPS building locations
