We are recognized experts in casting, 3D printing, surface treatments, plasma spray, machining, physical vapor deposition (PVD), and titanium anodization used for medical device and other applications.

The Lincotek facility in Molalla is an investment casting company focused on the orthopedic market, we recently added the ability to finish implants using state of the art equipment. We continue to invest in capital equipment to support the growth and are in need of additional associates in a number of positions support the growth.

Job Title: Certified NDT Inspector, level II

Department: Quality Control

Reports To: Quality Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

Primary functions of the Non-Destructive Test (NDT) Digital Reader are to conduct Radiographic (Xray) Testing interpreting results to applicable specification, and certifying castings are acceptable / rejectable. Responsible for daily setup, checks, and calibration of digital equipment to make sure castings are processed to work instructions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the Major Responsibilities, including the following:

  • Review and ensure in-house work order tracking documents are correct to current revision and meet all engineering specifications.
  • Responsible for all radiographs and organizes correctly by part.
  • Using all certification and digital reading requirements, check each radiograph to determine appropriate quality for image sensitivity and accuracy.
  • Visually evaluate radiographic indications to determine if casting discontinuities exist.
  • Interpret identified discontinuities to determine their cause and/or whether they meet customer and engineering specifications.
  • Evaluate parts with repeat problem areas; consult with engineering as appropriate to provide future solutions to fix problem areas.
  • Identify and mark problem areas on parts needing repair, routes for repair.
  • Sign and stamp reports for acceptance of parts as determined by radiographic digital test.
  • Must follow all personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
  • Accurately record and document work performed. Documentation must be filed and controlled for future verification and/or certification during audits.
  • Works overtime, as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or GED certification required. Training provided on the job and in classroom or certification sessions. For Senior level status must complete Radiographer levels in accordance with the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) standards as follows:


  • Level 2 course, plus digital method training modules
  • Level 2 certification, plus digital method certifications
  • Recertify level 2 every three years.

Prefer previous experience working in a manufacturing environment where machinery and processes are established.

Demonstrated ability to understand basic computer operations. Skills demonstrated by the competent performance of all Radiographer duties for at least three years.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Excellent communication skills, including well developed written, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities.
  • Basic computer skills including MS Office applications.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Basic math skills include addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, and percentages to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
