Summary:
Reporting to the division Operations Manager, the Plant Manager is responsible for setting and enforcing high standards for safety, precast concrete operations, ensuring compliance to regulatory and company standards and executing production plans.Additionally, this position is responsible for facilitating continuous improvement initiatives of plant processes and systems focusing on opportunities to improve production by using all available resources.
Essential Functions:
- Direct and coordinate plant operations within company policies and procedures.
- Oversee the production requirements set forth by the schedulerby making sure molds are in shop ready for casting as required.
- Assign personnel within the shop to meet production requirements based on incentive efficiency hourly requirements.
- Work with Human Resourcesand Supervisors to build a strong workforce and see that safety, quality and housekeeping standards are maintained.
- Coordinate with dispatch and forklift operators to assure that materials are brought into and out of the shop as required. Assure that product is handled in proper fashion to minimize damage.
- Work with Quality Control to assure that all standards are definedand met. Continue to work jointly on reducing scrap.
- Work with fabrication and maintenance departments to assure all tooling is in good working order while always focusing on improving efficiency of production practices.
- Responsible for attaining plant production goals.
- Control and minimize labor overtime.
- Work with Training department to foster a well-trained and motivated production staff.
- Assist with employee performance reviews.
- Attend scheduled training and meetings.
Experience and Education:
- One to Threeyears ofmanufacturing or construction experience with proven supervisory successrequired.
- Strong technical background in concrete, construction or manufacturingprocesses is desired.
- Decision making and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and other software applications.
- Must have the ability to plan, set objectives and goals, prioritize, measure performance, provide direction and meet deadlines.
Abilities:
- Have the ability to re-instruct all employees on the proper methods and/or procedures required should a problem arise.
- Have the ability to train the employees as well as oversee all repairs required to produce a quality-standard product.
- Make time for random inspections of any/all products.
- Physically be able to adhere to those standards that must be met by an employee to satisfactorily perform all the essential functions of this job.
