Plant Manager

POSITION OVERVIEW

Position will oversee all daily operations of the plant from production and manufacturing to ensuring all quality, safety, productivity, delivery, and cost goals are met. Drive continuous improvements to optimize all processes.

RESPONSIBILITES

· Direct and manage plant operations for production needs

· Coordinate all plant operational needs with departments managers and supervisors to insure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner

· Implement cost effective systems of control for operating expenditures, manpower and purchasing

· Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards

· Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus

· Control and minimize labor overtime

· Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives

· Incorporate shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel

· Provides direction, development and leadership to production supervisors

· Address any employee issues and collective bargaining agreements for the facility

· Analyze data and processes to complete corrective actions and drive continuous improvement processes

· Commit to all safety regulations to insure all compliance needs are maintained

· Responsible for all production output, production quality and on time shipping

REQUIREMENTS

· Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 5 years of manufacturing management experience

· Strong communication skills needed to speak with employees, other departments and management

· Problem solving skills needed to quickly assess a situation and be decisive in solving it

· Able to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently

· Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

· Ability to manage and supervise multiple teams

· Knowledge of the rubber industry helpful

· Ability to work independently or with a team with solid communication skills

· All other duties as assigned

WORK ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL DEMANDS

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

· The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
