What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Intern position at LINK Media?
LINK Media is looking for a Advertising Sales Intern to help us sell advertising for print, digital, social media and events. We need someone interested selling advertising in a B2B environment to sell through our inventory to support the largest news organization in the NKY Metro. We're a startup, so everyone we hire is a critical member of the team, and must be willing to work quickly, accept that we don't have everything figured out, remain flexible, and above all else, understand that what we are creating is bigger than any one person, or personality.
Salary: $15 an hour, plus commission. Anticipated commission per semester is $1500
What We Expect from You:
- Sales. First and foremost, you need to find and close sales, day in and day out
- Phone calls. This job involves plenty of phone calls to reach out to folks who are or might be interested in advertising with us
- Networking in the community to meet new prospects and promote LINK nky
- Clear communication with our production and accounting staff to execute on sales closed
- Excellent, consultative customer service to keep our advertisers and sponsors happy
- Don't be a jerk. We expect ethical and honest treatment of our team and our advertisers and sponsors.
Skills We Need You to Have:
- Enthusiasm about what we're trying to accomplish - LINK is a unique company, and understanding and liking what we do is critical to selling our advertising
- Creativity
- Strong communication – written and oral – abilities
- We don't really care what you are studying, but an interest in sales is necessary
