POSITION SUMMARY
The EHR Systems Analyst serves as a resource and primary point of contact for the implementation, on-going support, and overall maintenance for all clinical information systems. This position provides problem tracking, resolution and on-going enhancement requests.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Serves as first line resource for clinical customer issues with appropriate resolution instructions, education and documentation. Along with the Information and Data Services Team, designs and implements training programs to support end users.
- Facilitates development and updating of operating instructions, policies and procedures related to the Hospital wide EHR and other clinical information systems and applications.
- Ensure full utilization capabilities of all product features that support the efficient and effective delivery of care.
- Assists end users and trouble-shoots problem areas, in real time when possible.
- Documents, tracks, and follows up on all reported problems when immediate resolution is not possible.
- Tracks and prioritizes enhancement and system modification requests to support ease of utilization.
- Assists with the development of custom user menus and custom reports upon request, when feasible.
- Analyzes, tests and provides support for software updates, new releases and patches.
- Participates in planning, coordination, communication, project management, implementation and problem resolution relating to new clinical information systems.
- Actively participates in system testing, workflow redesign, change management, and continual education to all EHR end users.
- For selected clinical information systems applications, serves as the day-to-day contact person for staff and outside vendors during the installation phase and for ongoing review and changes thereafter.
- Coordinates and deploys application changes necessary to support charge capture and documentation update.
- Helps maintain test and live environments for the development and maintenance of software applications.
- Assists with management of network hardware and software. Monitors hardware and software to ensure appropriate use and/or access.
- Assists with coordination between clinical departments, application and service vendors, and other Information Technology resources both internal and external.
- Ensures critical information is shared with leaders responsible for information systems.
- Maintains a detailed understanding and knowledge of product content, functionality, interaction and new technologies. Advises the Leadership responsible for IDS of trends, potential system related needs and opportunities.
- Actively participates in departmental/Hospital-wide safety programs, performance improvement activities, and committees as assigned and as needed.
- Seeks out educational opportunities to ensure the latest knowledge of applications, hardware, products and trends affecting healthcare informatics.
