JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for the timely and accurate submission of claims to third party payers and self pay patients. Answer written and verbal inquiries in a timely and professional manner according to hospital procedures. Document appropriately all activities related to the collection of each account. Maintain the highest level of confidentiality in dealing with all hospital information.

- Mon-Fri
- 8:00am-4:30pm
Compensation:
- $21.20/hr DOE

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reviews and checks final bills for accuracy and readiness for billing.
- Prepares and submits claims to third party payers.
- Responsible for follow up on delinquent accounts from third party payers.
- Prepares and submits write offs and adjustments for data entry and refers for supervisor approval.
- Researches, prepares, and submits refund requests, including source documents, for supervisor approval.
- Responsible to make detailed notes regarding the status and all transactions on the patient accounts.
- Responsible for being courteous and polite to patients, their agents, coworkers, and other hospital staff at all times, whether on the telephone or in person.
- Provide quality customer service, both internally and externally.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To be cross trained in other areas of the hospital as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS (Required):
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and or ability required.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Two years office or customer service experience.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are required.
- Minimum of two years computer experience which includes Microsoft Word, Excel or similar programs.
- Prefer two years of healthcare billing experience.
