The Assistant Warehouse Manager will work cooperatively with the Warehouse Manager to provide support and guidance to the crew of Production staff to ensure that work is distributed and completed in a timely manner. In addition, the Assistant Warehouse Manager will assist in operating the Pinewood Derby Machine, ordering supplies, loading, and unloading shipments, and maintaining the overall appearance of the warehouse.
Requirements
Essential Functions
- Operate and assist in the maintenance of the Forklift truck as needed.
- Manage the operation of the Pinewood Derby machine with the support of the Warehouse Manager.
- Transport product via a box truck as needed.
- Manage the Spyder inventory that is housed at LI.
- Utilize 3PL to ship, receive, and maintain inventory.
- Complete all necessary work orders and documentation for Spyder Production.
- Communicate all Spyder production concerns, interruptions, supply requests to the Warehouse Manager and Fulfillment Manager.
- Ensures a safe and clean environment for individuals served by assisting housekeeping staff with clean up when needed.
- Attend departmental and other meetings as required.
- Provides a positive environment for individuals participating in prevocational services that allow learning and enjoyment of activities.
- Work cooperatively with all Production employees, vendors, and LI employees.
General Responsibilities
- Responsible for the health and safety of individuals served.
- Expected to demonstrate good judgment at all times.
- Expected to serve as role model for individuals.
- Expected to serve as an advocate and to protect the human rights of individuals served at all times.
- Expected to participate in training as required by your supervisor or for all LOGAN staff.
- Other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- ExperienceTwo or more years in material handling and/or shipping and receiving and forklift truck experience in an industrial environment. Must also have two or more years of supervisory experience.
Job Knowledge, Abilities, and Requirements
- Individual must demonstrate a positive attitude to support individuals with disabilities. Individual must be willing to learn and implement positive approaches to instruction and behavioral supports. Must have basic computer skills and ability to communicate orally and in writing. CPR/First Aid Certification required. Must be able to sit, kneel, bend, reach, lift, stand and walk or perform combinations of these on a regular and constant basis. Must have a valid driver's license.
