What You Will Do
As a SCIF Security Specialist with the SCIF Operations Group (SSO-2) within the Sensitive and Special Operations Division you will support Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) Field Intelligence Element (FIE) activities, and Special Access Programs Facilities to ensure security and compliance. You will use your experience with access control systems to ensure the authorized entry and secure operations of our facilities. As a SCIF Security Specialist 2, you will represent SSO-2 during customer interactions internal and external to the Laboratory and provide advanced security to support assigned area.
The position will report to the SSO-2 Group Leader and receive direct supervision and instruction from the Physical Operations Team Leader.
This position will require occasional travel and working non-standard hours. On-call (24/7 including holidays) is on a rotation basis. When on-call, you must be able to respond to the worksite within one hour.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Security Experience
Demonstrate knowledge and experience implementing requirements in Technical Security. Experience with DOE access control systems, including installation, configuration and maintenance. Experience in recommending and coordinating the acquisition, installation or replacement of equipment designed to increase efficiency of security & safeguards operations.\
Regulatory Experience
Demonstrated ability to interpret, apply, and adhere to regulatory guidance and governance specific to site security. Knowledgeable with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security requirements, Special Access Programs (SAPs), or other high-security activities
DOE Experience
Technical knowledge of one or more of the following: DCIDs, ICDs, National Industrial Security Program Operations Manual (NISPOM) or relevant DOE Orders for Safeguards and Security. Experience in providing resolutions to a diverse range of security problems, which require data analysis and evaluation.
Investigation Experience
Experience in researching, investigating alternatives and recommending solutions on problems affecting Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security requirements, Special Access Programs (SAPs), security and safeguards.
Communication
Excellent communication skills, ability to effectively interact and collaborate with colleagues, as well as internal and external customers. Proven ability to operate in a team environment.
Education
Position requires a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution and 4 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of related education and experience directly related to the occupation.

- Experience working in a SCIF environment
