What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dispatch Administrative Assistant position at Loudoun County Government?
Are you a multi-tasking problem solver with a love for helping animals and people? Loudoun County Animal Services is looking for a full-time administrative assistant for our dispatch and humane law enforcement team. The newest member of our team will dedicate their time to answering calls, supporting Loudoun residents over the phone with animal inquiries, serving as a dispatcher in support of Humane Law Enforcement Officers and providing administrative support through record keeping, managing inventory of uniforms and equipment and other administrative tasks.

• comfortable working with emotional callers in a very fast paced environment,
• patient, compassionate and customer-focused,
• detail-oriented in record-keeping
• confident in Microsoft Excel
This is a temporary position with benefits to be filled through, at least, July 2025. Work weeks will consist of days, with a generally set schedule of either Sun-Thurs or Tues-Sat. High school diploma or equivalent; four (4) years of related clerical/administrative work
experience with computer automated systems and office applications experience; or
equivalent combination of education and experience. Bilingual ability strongly preferred.

Should possess some experience and knowledge pertaining to animals, animal care and/or public safety dispatch experience.
- Must pass pre-employment criminal, credit, and DMV background checks.
- Must be 18 years of age at time of hire.
- Must be a United States citizen or must have been a lawful resident of the United States for the past ten (10) consecutive years.
