Do you have two (2) years of retail sales, customer service, marketing, fundraising, public relations, or development experience?

- Recruits, trains and coordinates the activities of volunteers.
- Assists staff in planning and organizing regular, special, holiday, seasonal and private events, projects and programs.
- Participates in and emcee events.
- Coordinates with guest services and other staff concerning location reservation, setup of equipment, and operates a vehicle to pick up and deliver merchandise and supplies.
- Accesses the LeAP financial system to prepare purchase orders and to pay bills.
- Prepares purchase orders.
- Composes correspondence, collates and mails sponsorship advertising and mass marketing materials.
- Inventories, orders and stores equipment, supplies and giveaway merchandise.
- Coordinates with marketing staff concerning design and production of bookmarks, handouts, flyers, pamphlets and leaflets of events.
- Organizes special events including, but not limited to, zoolympics, multicultural events, children’s activities, movie nights, races and other events and ensures that guests leave areas safely.
- Assists with recruitment of in-kind service contributions and donations to support events.
- Attends meetings to disseminate information concerning regular, special, holiday, seasonal and other promotional events.
- Prepares sponsor reports for each special event.
- Decorates areas for events, accepts reservations and tickets and submits to the business office.
- Performs related work as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Associate’s Degree in Advertising, Communications, Marketing, Business or Public Administration or related discipline.
- Two (2) years of retail sales, customer service, marketing, fundraising, public relations, or development experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Must work a varied schedule.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.
- Performs light to medium work that involves walking or standing virtually all of the time and also involves exerting between 20 and 50 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or considerable skill, adeptness and speed in the use of the fingers, hands or limbs in tasks involving close tolerances or limits of accuracy.
