What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Nurse Assistant - HIV Prevention position at LPR International?
LPR International is seeking two temporary Certified Nursing Assistants to assist our client based in Cheverly, MD. This assignment is scheduled for an immediate start through March 30, 2025. This position may require some evening hours when needed for community events.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Possess and maintain a valid a current CNA certification from the Maryland Board of Nursing.
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to educate patients regarding STI/HIV matters.
- Demonstrates the ability to perform venipuncture, HIV rapid test and urine based STI specimen collection, in clinic and non-clinic settings. Follows protocol regarding the transport and timely testing schedule to reduce the results wait period.
- Required to travel to various locations within Prince George’s County to perform STI testing. Travel is reimbursable at current temp agency rates.
Work includes, but is not limited to:
- Takes client vital signs – temperature, weight, height, pulse, respiration, blood pressure and other pertinent information accurately.
- Performs STI/HIV testing using phlebotomy, rapid tests, and/or urine based technology, in clinical and non-clinical settings.
- Able to report abnormal results to professional staff.
- Receive from clients or give pertinent information accurately to facilitate care.
- All results are documented and interpreted accurately.
- Collects, handles, and transports certain laboratory specimens.
- Assist Nurses with clients, schedule appointments, and complete Epic
- Assists clients in connecting with referred services and provides follow-up documentation
- Performs STI/HIV pre-and post-test counseling in the clinic and offsite locations
- Maintains knowledge required to professionally complete screening, educational and informational activities, maintains knowledge required to professionally complete this activity.
