The Area Coordinator provides leadership and support to a team of Career Advocates who work directly with students ages 1422 with disabilities. In addition to managing a small caseload, the Area Coordinator ensures effective service delivery by providing coaching, training, and oversight to staff. This role plays a key part in onboarding students, maintaining caseload quality, and building relationships with schools, group homes, and juvenile justice centers. The Area Coordinator collaborates closely with the Program Manager and Data Support Specialist to monitor team performance, address gaps, and lead monthly area meetings to align on program goals and best practices.
Job Responsibilities
Provide employment and career support services to students, employers, faculty, and staff.
Collaborate with parents, teachers, specialists, and community partners.
Assess student needs and interests.
Develop and deliver career programs, workshops, and employer connections.
Maintain case management records, track student progress, and audit service records.
Monitor team caseloads for gaps in service, compliance, and equitable student distribution.
Oversee training and shadowing for new Career Advocates, including outreach planning.
Conduct ongoing check-ins with Career Advocates on their team.
Travel within designated areas (mileage reimbursement available).
Organize and lead monthly team meetings for their assigned area, ensuring communication of updates, best practices, and program priorities.
Partner with Program Manager and Data Support Specialist to review performance data and implement improvement strategies.
Desired Qualifications Associate or bachelors degree in education, social work, counseling, vocational rehabilitation, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
35 years working with youth with disabilities in educational or workforce settings.
Experience in staff training, coaching, or leadership roles.
Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
Ability to analyze caseloads, assess student progress, and implement program improvements.
Positive, flexible attitude adaptable to change.
Required Qualifications
Experience in career development, workforce programs, or postsecondary education support.
Strong data management and reporting skills.
Familiarity with reporting and case management software (Podio, Google Docs, etc.).
Valid Drivers License with an acceptable driving record.
Successfully pass a criminal background and drug screen.
