Senior Project Manager - Controls and Automation
This role will oversee daily operations and activities of projects ranging in size from $250K to $2M . Responsibilities include ensuring overall profitability of the project.
- Develop and execute implementation plans for projects.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of contractual terms, conditions, insurance, and scopes of work.
- Assign work to meet overall project deadlines.
- Ensure all project team members clearly understand the scope of responsibilities.
- Develop schedules for internal and customer requirements.
- Evaluate progress on projects and document changes.
- Manage purchasing and subcontractor requirements.
- Develop costs and proposals for change orders to contract scope.
- Implement cash flow plans, including A/R collections.
- Handle all project invoicing to the customer.
- Provide timely financial forecasts on costs, budgets, change orders, and schedules.
- Serve as the primary interface with the customer during the implementation phase.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and codes.
- Prepare technical documentation, including project definitions, status reports, process control sequences, standard practices, scope of supply, RFIs, customer correspondence, and code commenting.
- Maintain project documentation: status reporting, percent-complete estimates, project manuals, network-based files, meeting minutes, I/O lists, purchase orders, instrumentation specifications, and price quotes.
- Participate in sales and marketing activities, including identifying opportunities, suggesting scope changes, networking across industries, and exploring new marketing approaches.
- Manage large, complex projects with diverse scope, including projects exceeding $2M.
- May supervise Project Managers I or II.
- Must have experience managing large projects across multiple industries and specialized sectors (e.g., semiconductor, power).
- Interpret and enforce policies and procedures within the business unit.
- Oversee training and development of subordinate staff.
- Ensure budgets are met for the business unit.
- Manage entire project staff, including engineers, technicians, and administrative support.
- Lead major proposal development when assigned.
- Ability to travel
Minimum Requirements
- Education: BS Degree in Engineering preferred. Business or other technical degrees with equivalent experience may be considered.
- Experience: Minimum of seven years preferred, including project management.
- Background in controls engineering required.
- Business development experience highly desirable.
- Strong leadership and client relations skills essential.
- PMP certification is a plus.

Salary : $130,000 - $200,000
