POSITION SUMMARY
- Performs responsible human support and paraprofessional work assisting classroom teachers or other certificated staff in helping students achieve instructional objectives and established goals in the areas of reading and/or mathematics.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assists the classroom teacher in performing specific duties as assigned or undertaking specialized tasks to achieve and enhance instructional objectives.
- Provides practice activities and repetitions in reading and/or math as developed by classroom and/or Title I teacher(s).
- Assists with large and small group reading and/or math activities.
- Guides independent study in reading and/or math as assigned by the teacher.
- Reports and assists with student problems.
- Supervises students during unstructured time such as lunch and recess.
- Assists with student routines.
- Maintains courteous, professional and effective working relationships with all levels of employees.
- Works the days and hours necessary to perform all assigned responsibilities and tasks.
- Performs related duties as necessary.
