Investment Analyst

Macdonald & Company are proud to be retained by an innovative Build-to-Rent (BTR) developer backed by institutional capital to recruit an Investment Analyst on a full-time, in-office basis in Atlanta. As one of the first vertically integrated BTR platforms of its kind, the firm has quickly gained traction in the Southeast with projects in Atlanta and Nashville and plans for further expansion. The Investment Analyst will play a pivotal role in evaluating new development opportunities, underwriting deals, supporting strategic initiatives, and collaborating directly with senior leadership and capital partners.

This is a high-impact opportunity for an analytically minded early-career professional looking to step into a dynamic and fast-growing real estate investment platform.

Key Responsibilities:

• Underwrite new BTR development opportunities and perform detailed financial modeling, including cash flow projections and sensitivity analysis.
• Conduct data-driven market research to identify target MSAs and submarkets for expansion.
• Support strategic evaluations of real estate acquisitions, developments, and dispositions.
• Work closely with the Acquisitions team and senior management from deal sourcing through closing.
• Prepare investment memos and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, including capital partners and lenders.
• Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory developments impacting real estate investments.
• Contribute to broader corporate-level initiatives and business planning efforts.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or related field.
• 6–24 months of relevant experience in real estate private equity, investment management, or investment banking preferred.
• Strong Excel modeling and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills and comfort presenting complex financial concepts.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
• Eagerness to be a team player in an entrepreneurial environment with opportunities for long-term growth.
